“DESERT GARDEN” A PORSCHE GT4 LIVERY PART 1 OF 2

Porsche GT4 Clubsport

Turning a painting into a racing livery was an exciting challenge. In the first part of this two-part story, we explore the detailed process of creating the artwork for the car. My goal was to produce a standalone piece of art that would incorporate the owner's color pallet and taste while seamlessly fitting the car's shape. Projects start by collecting reference materials such as images, fabrics, and artifacts. After considering various layout ideas, the sketching process begins.

Pen and inks of the flowers

Each flower's lines were sketched with a pencil and then inked. Serape patterns from Southwest blankets and fabrics were used as references to elaborate on the color palette and feel of Southwest colors. A gradient of deep cobalt blue to teal added depth and balance to the painting.

The most fulfilling part of the painting was bringing shapes, values, and colors of the floral patterns to life—experimenting with hues, adjusting the palette, and ensuring harmony and flow. This creative journey resulted in 'Desert Garden,' an original painting that utilizes its unique color palette and serves as the foundation for the elements to be placed on the car.

Adding finishing touches to Desert Garden

With "Desert Garden" completed, the journey started again, this time to transform it into a racing livery and adorn the car.
